You and Your Children OK. Just how many do you have and how big is that family of yours? Usually in Canada we find 2 adults (supposedly adult) and 2 children is the size to plan for but if you are one of the lucky ones with more, be prepared for the increasing cost of your trip as the number goes up. But you already know that don't you? But don't worry. They're all great kids so you'll still travel. When Can We Go? Obviously you are restricted by the school year dates and by your own time off availability so that narrows it down to the same dates as most other parents. And you thought you'd get away from your neighbours! The prime times are, of course, Easter, Spring Break, the summer and then the Christmas/New Years period. Within these periods there are many options available to you. Read on to learn more. Kid Friendly Destinations Where you go is going to be affected by the age of your "little ones". If they are under 6 or so then you get to choose where to go. Once they get to be a bit older you need to choose a destination with things that will keep them a bit occupied - enough to give you a break, at least. Once they reach their teens, you just know it is going to require a discussion around the kitchen table and then a compromise. So, is it a sunny beach vacation for you and the baby, a self-drive trip to Drumheller (dinosaurs) or Disneyland for the middle ones, or a cruise to keep everyone happy? Have fun deciding. |
