George's Journal: a Collection of Articles Travel…It's Coming Back! It has been a long slow winter for most travel agencies in Canada and finally we are seeing some turn-around in consumer confidence about travel. The phones are ringing and bookings are now being made. Surprisingly, we find the more expensive product selling best. Cruises in many areas of the world are popular as are trips to Australia. And you know how much Heather and I enjoy both of those! I must thank each of you who voted us the Best Travel Agency in the Peninsula for 2001. We were very surprised and honoured. Thank you. For those of you who prefer good value in your journeys, we have two first-class programmes for you this spring. Our first is a group cruise on May 20th that will be hosted by Dal Richards, Canada's King of Swing and includes stops in the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai, Maui, plus Kona and Hilo in Hawaii before cruising to Vancouver. The beautiful new cruise ship Infinity will be our home for the 12-day programme. We hope to have another well-known entertainer onboard as well. Our programme includes home pick-up, air to Honolulu, Vancouver Airport's A.I.F., transfer to the ship in Honolulu, porterage, the 11-Day cruise and port charges. The Infinity cruised to Alaska last year and from the comments we received from guests onboard, we know you will have a great time. The second tour we have for you is a very special visit to Kelowna on May 06th to visit selected artists and galleries plus two important wineries in the area. On this deluxe 4-day journey we stay in a 4-star hotel and visit the Roger Arndt gallery plus the Blueberry Hill Gallery. Roger is internationally known for his paintings of the Canadian West and Vivian for her whimsical art style. You can talk to and learn from each artist during each visit. Most meals are included.
